Privacy Policy
hontran.dev is the personal portfolio of Hon Tran, an independent creative developer. This page explains what information the site collects, how it is used, and the choices available to visitors.
What data is collected
The only personal data collected directly is what a visitor submits through the contact or hire form: name, email address, company, and project details. That information is stored in a Postgres database and used solely to respond to the inquiry. It is never sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
Analytics & cookies
This site uses Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how visitors find and use the site. Analytics only loads after a visitor accepts the cookie consent banner. Declining keeps the site fully functional and sets no analytics cookies (_ga*). The consent choice itself is stored locally in the browser so the banner is not shown again on future visits.
How data is used
Contact and hire form submissions are used only to respond to the inquiry they relate to — for example, scoping a project or answering a question. When analytics consent is given, Google Analytics data is used in aggregate to understand traffic and content performance; it is not linked back to an individual's identity.
Data storage & retention
Form submissions are stored in a Postgres database and kept only as long as needed to handle the inquiry and any resulting project. The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (IP address, user agent) for infrastructure and security purposes. This site does not have user accounts and does not process payments, so no account or payment data is stored.
Your rights
Visitors can ask to see or delete any personal data submitted through the contact or hire form at any time. To make a request, get in touch via the contact page. This site is not directed at children under 16, and no information is knowingly collected from them.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time as the site evolves. Any changes are posted on this page with a revised effective date at the top.
